Hybrid Dogs?
These pooches want to be Hybrid dogs, but well, as you'll see by the commercial, they don't quite 'fit in'

I had a dog thread but someone moved it to Foo then it got dumped on because I referenced to my Dobermans as Hybrids. Ironically that is exactly what they are

My reason for calling it that is that hybrid people carry weird things on their bikes and those dogs OBVIOUSLY want to be toted around I should have titled it, "Wannabe Hybrid Dogs"

I think the common term for a "hybrid" dog is "mutt"......... Ironic isn't it..........

You are right. I was looking at it from a different perspective. Hybrids (wether it be dogs, fish, cows, etc....)or mutt tends to be the part of the breed that generally gets the bad name for one reason or another when compared to thoroughbreds / recognizable blood lines. A little bit of everything but not really good at anything.
That irony can be found with our hybrid bikes as well. Generally talked down or frowned upon. Yet, there's always someone who loves them regardless. I have read the arguments / threads a million times. I know what the bikes are good for / capable of, and I'm enjoying mine regardless of the lack of heritage.

There is no pure race on the planet, our DNA strands go back to about 18 people what they call the 1st mother. humans have never done anything but random breading since the beginning of humans. I will not even get into it because then you get into religion and evolution bla bla bla. there is no such thing as a pure race of humans. Humans in its entirety is the race

I think if a Hybrid bicycle is well thought out like the manufactured upscale bikes from the bike shops, or the modified ones the many have built the (Hot Rods) so to speak are more of a pure Hybrid or designer bike in the sense of the term, thought out, and designed with a purpose in mind. If you just throw something together with a handful of parts well you might have a mut

I love that commercial because I've got a Great Pyrenees, and yes, he is a 100+ lb lapdog. Still a pup, too. Probably has another 20-30 lbs to gain.
