Hitting the Dirt

I park my truck in a state park and commute my 10 miles to work. I have the option of going all black top or I can blast down a 1.5 mile dirt road. There are miles of mountain bike trails as well and I have yet to explore them. How many of you run the dirt? This is 1 of the reasons I use wax based oil to keep the grit out of my junk
