Giant
I tried a pal's new Giant hybrid the other day. Can't recall model name but it was the "3" version which is the low-end model. Bike had staight bars with horns and 700X28 tires. He paid 550.00 for it. Have to say I was very impressed with how fast it seemed. Very much like a road bike. Compared to my Kona Dew Deluxe the Giant was in another speed league. Anyone else own one of these bikes? Seems like an upgrade from the average hybrid design if speed is your thing.

I own a 2008 Giant FCR3, predecessor to the Rapid 3, which is similarly equipped to the Rapid except for the tires which are 32s. I have 3300 miles on it and have been very pleased with the bike's performance and comfort.

CameronC is correct. It was a Rapid.
It's Saturday night as I write this. Yesterday I went up to the mainland and bought a Rapid 2. Same bike with slightly better components. Bike has 28s. Not only does it roll faster than the Kona Dew, it rides no hands with good stability. I never ride no hands, but the geometry is such that you can. (whatever that's worth to you) My Dew Deluxe is very dicy with no hands. I like the Dew, but I now like the Giant Rapid 2 better.
