    Mounting a U Lock to a TREK 7100

Anyone have any idea's on how I can attach my ulock to my Trek 7100? I left the Ulock in the picture to show the size. I've tried bunging it to the back rack, but I have too much vibration noise when I hit bumps. Thanks.

    Get a case-hardened chain w/ monobloc.
    Mount it like this:

Hmm, I think it'd be more productive to suggest a mounting method for the current U-lock than to suggest a different lock. Hey, maybe it'll help. Mijome07 has already shown a nice picture, though I wish the detail of the exact mounting product would be offered. As for me, I'll just provide a link to Twofish Unlimited's Bicycle Accessory Fasteners page. I haven't used any of their products, but Twofish Unlimited seems highly regarded around here, and they seem to have a variety of useful fasteners.

mounting a lock on trek 7100

Hi, I just received a Trek 7100 as a gift and I'm trying to transfer my U-Lock (the longer version) to this bike but having some difficulties. I was able to see the solution photo but I couldn't see where you attached the mount. Could somehow describe a way to attach a U-Lock mount and lock onto this bike? I could do it so the attachment part is going to the side (Rather than the traditional hanging down) but i'm concerned about it moving or clanking.

Also - do I have to be concerned about the cables? Do you put those within the bracket or on the outside?
    Thanks for any info.

Can you put the curve of the U lock under the rise of the luggage rack. That prevents my lock from bouncing around under the bungie chord.
