Clicking sound coming out of a one-month-old Trek 7.2FX 2010
Whenever I am riding(actually turning the pedals, not sliding) on the road, the bike starts making clicking sound pretty much the same pace as how hard I am turning the pedals. The strange thing is that it won't happen when I lift up the bike on a repair stand. My local bike said the bike had no problem at all, but it sounds pretty irritating, especially for a $500 bike. Anybody knows why?

Noises like that are not "NORMAL!" Any mechanic who says that is not a mechanic. You should also make the shop owner aware of that!
Make them fix it, or call the manufacturer and complain. And make lots of noise, if you have to....
That bike should be as quiet as a churchmouse.

The bike is only one month old - it should not do this - make 'em fix it!

LBS spent maybe 30 minutes to fix it and the clicking was still here. Sigh, is this normal for this particular model of bike?

The question is: is the sound coming from your pedals, your crank, your chain, your cassette, your derailleurs or your bottom bracket?
I had a creaking sound once that came from my crank, where it is attached to the bottom bracket. It had come a bit loose.
The trick is: open it, clean it, grease it, close it, tighten it

No, Jon, it's not normal - time to call trek if the dealer is not capable of diagnosis and repair.
Who is the dealer, by the way????

Check for loose parts on the peddle for sure, my 7.1 suffered from this for about 1 day. Also, most Trek dealers give you a 60 day window to have your bike tuned as many times as you like/need. Take it back and have them test ride it in the parking lot to replicate the issue.
