Question Bar ends for Cannondale Q5

    Hi all,

New here so forgive me if this is a dumb question - getting back into riding after a 20 or so year hiatus (now with my kids!)

I picked up a Cannondale Q5 to ride on/off road. I'm really enjoying it, but am having some pains in my hands (computer person by trade - not surprising).

Based on reading here it looks like bar ends might be a possible solution to give my hands a break / change the pressure distribution. Are there any in particular you would recommend? Will I need to replace the stock grips as well? Any further advice you'd be willing to share?

    Thanks!!!

You can add any barends you like to any flatbar and you can either move the grips or cut them.

As well as bar ends you should probably get Ergon grips. These provide a position with much better wrist alignment and are very popular here. Some of these have built in bar ends.

This has been a good combination for me, Ergon GP-1 grips and Forte Kor bar ends from Performance bicycle. I couldn't ride 20 miles with my old round grips without my wrists killing me but now it's no longer a problem.
