How Stupid can you get...?...
I'm embarrassed to tell this, but what the h&ll..My son and me are going on about a 2 hour
ride, had a few hours before we were leaving. I decide to grease my rear wheel bearings.
In a little bit of a hurry, ready to reinstall wheel, and notice one bearing on the work bench.
Tear it back down, clean check the bearings twice this time, ready to install the wheel.
will not fit, have axle in from wrong side( Laugh), and this point I'm starting to loose it.
After that, I decided on an Adult beverage and a long walk, Get up the morning and
take my time. I guess the moral of this story is, ( Wait for a rainy day for these kind of
projects, or never before a planned ride when your in a hurry, and not a professional
bike mechanic, ) Richard

I've never done that...but I'll tell ya how stupid I am. Was gonna ride the other night on the Ark River Trail which is about a 15 minute drive from my house. Got all set to go...ice water in bottles, snacks, gear...drove the 15 min...got out of my truck, helmet on, gloves on, I use a small 12v compressor from Walmart to air up my tires. Got them aired up, locked my truck door from the inside, and then slammed the door where the bottom corner hit just perfect on the front tire of my bike. Needless to say it tore up my tire, and I packed my crap and went back to the house where I obviously belong.

There are going to be days you don't want to get out of bed. Sometimes they happen when you can't go back to bed.
Get through as best you can and wait for tomorrow to change things.
At least neither of these stories involved spending time in a jail cell or being at knife point (one of my epic really bad days many years ago).

I use the same thing, 12 volt compressor from Walmart, made by Slime. Tire pressure gauge on it is off by
almost 8 pounds, checked it against my Planet Bike gauge, so to get 85 PSI, have to put in around 93 PSI,
just in case you have not checked yours. : ) Richard

Thanks Richard. I will check it. Have wondered how accurate the gauge on it is!
