Change x4 trigger shifter to bar end shifter?

Change x4 trigger shifter to bar end shifter?
I have a cannondale quick with sram x4 trigger shifters and disc brakes. I love the bike but want to know if I can add drop bar ends and end shifters to give more hand positions? If so what components would you recommend?
