Deciding Factor...Please Help!!!

So, I test rode the Trek fx 7.1 and the Specialize Sirrus. I like both of the bikes and I honestly didn't feel much of a difference. So since it basically a toss up I started at components and accessories. I found that trek has quite a few accessories available via their website but not so much on Specialize. Does specialized not have as many accessories?

So what accessories does Trek have that aren't available from generic sources? Is having an all Trek branded bike important to you? Not being flip, just asking. Seems like that would answer the question for you.

I was down to these two brands. The Trek store was annoying and less helpful, the Specialized store was easier to work with. Factor in the service, after sales support and what type of break-in first and second service plans they offer.

Spend the extra $80 and go for the 7.2. You will be glad you did.

You can put Trek accessories on a Specialized.

Decide which bike you like better. Also think about which store you want to deal with. Not just about who will give you a $20 or $30 price break on the bike, but who you'll feel happy about dealing with for service, and who you'll want to come back to and buy accessories (or even another bike?) later.

I picked out the store that i liked working with.

I was not so much concerned about have all the same brand stuff but being fairly new to the bike scene I wanted accesorising to be as easy as possible with me having to do much customizing to make stuff fit..

Any bike is easy to accessorize, through many sources. Don't get hung up on "brand" accessories - they are all the same when it comes to installation, and less known names cost less.

Get the bike that feels the best to you, and change it to how you want it. Trek and Specialized are both good - do they offer any other brands to compare them to?

Go for the 7.2 if you want the Trek - it's a better frame and has slightly better componentry.
