Man I feel ( LAZY ) !
I is a beautiful day here where I live, not to hot or cold. Not working today, kids all at school,
needed some butter for dinner and a few other things to cook tonight. Well I look at the bike
and think what an awesome time to ride to the store, a little over 10 mile round trip. Well
I decided to just drive , when I get to town, notice a bike, Jamis Aurora loaded down
with panniers at the McDonald's, very unusual for the small town I live near by, The only
person you every would really see with them are me, and I still get stairs from the locals at
the store. Could not help myself, went inside to see who was riding this bike, turns the guy
is headed from Pennsylvania to St Petersburg Florida, ( WOW ) He said he was on day 11
and expected to get there in another 12 or so...was doing mostly motels for lack of camping
areas, but was loaded with camping gear. He appeared around mid 50 or so, said he also
posted on BF on the touring, and vintage, and mechanics section. I asked him what his longest
tour was prior to this one, ( He said 3 days ), I asked what he was averaging a day, around
70 miles, but yesterday 90 due to finding some where to stop. I was so inspired by this guy,
I drove back home, and got my bike and returned to the store, and have a new respect for what
can be achieved if someone wants it bad enough..I was just to lazy to push the bike up
my driveway, and thinking on saving my energy for when my son got home from school to
go on a ride with him, ( I NEED to get out and put on MORE miles. ) and start getting
stronger, than being content with my rides....Richard

If this is any help, his bike was light blue, drop bars, red panniers on the back, just like the ones on the first
post a picture of your touring bike, handle bar bag, red also, long top tube mounted pump, fenders were
black from Planet Bike, Continental tires, and seems like green grip tape on his bars..He was kinda talking
over my head about using some sort of program for bike tours to plan there routes, and said it was not
working very well and was using maps instead, planned on going 35 more miles today, which would put
him just south of Fayetteville NC today 10-19-2010 and would have been riding on 401 south..I looked at
the bike for a while before I went in...LOL. I didn't order anything,
just talked to him, I told him I posted mainly on the Hybrid Forum, Someone would have to know who it is
, you would think on that long of a ride...I can not believe I did not ask him, but was mostly listening to him.
Richard ( And he was eating a Big Mac with fries, thought to myself, any one riding 70 miles a day can
eat what they want Laugh )
