Hi you might need to just go back to the dealer, its just one of those things than can happen to any new bike.
Ive seen it happen to a bike I was looking at on the dealer floor "brand new"
They should fix it free of charge.

There is no problem riding it before you get it back to the shop, it won't damage anything.
The Roam is one of the bikes on my very short list that I'm interested in buying. The problem is none of my local shops have one and they will have to order it special for me to look at. What are your impressions so far?
It would be great if you could snap a picture and post it here for us to look at. It is tough to get a real life impression from the pics on Giant's website. Also a pure vanity question; how does the white paint look in person? Is it glossy or flat?
