Affordable comfy seat for the wife's new hybrid

Hi everyone,
My wife and I just upgraded to some nice new Hybrid bikes. My wife got a Scott Sub 45 and loves it except for the saddle.

There is a million choices out there and we have no clue what would be a good choice.

She is wanting a seat that is cushy/comfortable and less aggressive. Also hoping it can be one at a reasonable price...

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

The Serfas E-Gel (LSD-100) for women works pretty well for a friend of mine. Just make sure any saddle you get is not too wide, it should accommodate the sit bones nothing more.

A slightly harder and less wide saddle are more comfy on longer runs. But it may take some time to get used to... Loads of brands, many especially for women. Some bikeshops keep saddles for loan (in Sweden anyway).

Your sitbones can toughen up, your tiddly bits can't. Harder is generally better, though it may not seem like it at first.

Terry Butterfly - my wife has one on all three of her bikes, including the hybrid. She likes them better than the Brooks she used to have.

The LBS let my girlfriend try out a bunch of saddles and she chose this one. She's happy with it. It's the difference between bike riding being a painful experience she never wants to do again vs. an activity she enjoys. If she followed the recommendations to get a harder, narrower seat, the bike would be sitting unused.

I have a Selle Respiro Soft saddle, and it's been great to ride. I hadn't ridden in years, and have been pain-free for each of our rides. Sure, my sit bones are a little sore afterwards, but I'm not left with pain like some saddles can cause.

Everyone is different it seems, unfortunately. For my woman it was a 25$ PlanetBike ARS saddle w/ gel. She loves it.

I believe Terry makes a lot of stuff for women. The thing about saddles is that what is right for you is the saddle that's the most comfortable for you.
