Hello Bike Forum, I've come seeking help from this big pool of expert knowledge.

I'm a bike commuter who really like hybrid bicycles. For the last decade or more I've been riding cheap used bicycles, but one thing I'm really sick of with these cobbled together bikes is going to the shop to get a new tire or seat post or something and always being told that the size is obscure and they'll have to order it in or I have to try different shops or whatever.

So I'm thinking about getting a new bicycle (although still on a budget), but I want to know I can get parts for it without hassle. Are there brands or models I should focus on? Or certain sizes that are just known to be very common?

There are a bunch of manufacturers out there which mass produce bikes where parts replacement is really not much of an issue.
