Going to order a Nashbar Trekking bar...
...and is there anything else I'm going to need as part of the install? I've read before that a new stem comes into play, but can't remember shorter or longer...

As long as you have an open face stem they are easy to change out so I would just get the bar, try it a while, and see if you want longer, shorter, or what you have. What you want depends on you and how your present bar fits you so I doubt anyone can say in advance that you want longer or shorter or the same, no one besides you anyway. There is one thing that could force you to get a new stem though. My Fuji came with a flat bar that used the 31.8mm clamp diameter where the Nashbar bar is 25.4mm so I had to get a new stem. I bought a slightly shorter stem because I felt the one that came with my Fuji was a little too long with the flat bar. It worked well for me with the trekking bar but now that I am using a Jones bar which is 31.8mm I am using the original longer Fuji stem and that works just right with the Jones bar!

Is their trekking bar in stock? Every time I decide I want one, it is out of stock on Nashbar's website. Last time I checked, it stated it would be available Feb. 11, 2011 (which had long since passed). As far as the stem is concerned, I anticipate you would need a longer stem, or else the back part of the bars would put you in a more upright position than your current bars.
The trekking bars are a good idea, though you may have to find a different source. Here are some comparably priced bars: https://www.benscycle.net/index.php?m...9¤cy=USD
Let us know if you get some. (Pictures)
