What did you do to your bike today?
Lets see what you all do on a daily basis to your bikes - feel free to contribute whether you cleaned your chain and lubed it, added an accessory, or simply rode it.
Today, its so cold out that I didn't even ride it - simply looked at it and admired it lol

I've been looking for ergonomic grips myself - how do you like those so far? can you adjust the bar ends separately from the grips themselves?

The GC-3 grips feel softer than the stock ones but i haven't had a chance to use them. I did do a lot of research and almost everybody who has them like them. The bar ends can be adjusted seperately from the grips themselves.

Tried installing 29 x 2.0 tires on my bike without success. Rears are hitting the front derailleur bracket. Front tires are ok. Also installed a different seat and an extra bottle cage.

Cross posting from the Post Pictures of Your Hybrid thread.
Edit: BTW, it's a 2003ish Kona Jake the Snake CX bike.
Not a hybrid, nor is it mine. As a thank you for letting me use his bike, I asked my friend if he wanted new bar tape. He said yes. So I asked him what color he wanted. He said hot pink. I said no, really what color? He said he actually wanted hot pink. I think hot pink tape on his olive green frame would look awful. Luckily, when I got to the shop, they only had white, black, and yellow. I told him this and he chose yellow. His old tape was really dirty white cork.
How did I do in wrapping it?
Halfway through the tape install:

Looking good!
Today I actually went to a local shop and impulse bought myself some Ergon GC2-L grips after giving up on sourcing local GC3s. I've already installed them and now I'm going on my much needed ride by the lake front

Installed some planet bike fenders on my Sirrus. It was a little tricky because I had to use the same mounting points for the rear fender as the rack, which required a trip to the hardware store for longer bolts, but I got it figured out. These fenders were nearly made for the bike, no zip ties!

Rode it through the woods on some local singletrack for about an hour. Had a lot of fun but there was just one problem, now I have the fever for a full blown MTB but i only have room for one bike. Still looking at purchasing an extra set of wheels with 700 x 32-35 tires on them so I can ride the rail trails.

Degreased chain and washed it since I didn't the other day I planned on it. After lubing it up, I went to performance bike and got it adjusted for tomorrows century. I bought myself some cycling shorts, gloves, and a few cliff bars/ gel.

Clif bars are the bomb!
I wrapped my barends with some Forté Grip-Tec bar tape. It's really grippy and comfy. Cost the same as my old Bontrager gel cork tape (threw it out because it was dirty and I wanted a new color)

Lubed and checked tires, rode 18 miles, cleaned chain, lubed, and wiped everything down.
60 degrees is not that cold. Fall is "prime season" for me. I've been riding solid for 6 months, am in great shape, and love the cooler weather. I do tend to wuss out from riding in late November and running in mid-December. I start running again in mid-late February, and riding again in mid-March.
Chicago weather is similar to NYC, so I'd recommend getting some long tights and a jacket to extend your season a bit. The longer you're off the bike, the worse shape you'll be in the early Spring.

Raised my seatpost about an inch! Did I get taller?
Thinner saddle and thicker shoe soles had me riding low.

Tried to raise the bars on the Quick 4. Found out I have to get another stem if I want any height adjustment.

Yea yea I know lol, I just simply prefer to be in 80-100 degree weather vs anything below that... I can comfortably tolerate down to 50 degrees before I start wearing coats. I'm probably not going to ride after November unless its a "nice" day. I'm going to run on my treadmill all winter long
It's amazing how little clothing one actually needs to stay warm on the bike when it's cold outside, after the first couple of miles.
