How did I do? (Got my first bike since a kid)
I went to my LBS (see picking up on the lingo) Spent a few days looking around and trying out different bikes. I settled on a Cannondale Adventure 5 2010. I paied around $460 U.S. How bad of a deal did I get? I do have 30 days to take it back, but so far I like it. Only thing is I can't seem to find a lot of information on it. Well hopefully I got a good commuter bike, just looking for some opinions/info from people who have more experience. One issue I am having is the mount that mounts the handle bars to the bike gets loose after one ride. The handle bars jiggle front and back and side to side a little. Took it back to LBS and they replaced it with a new one, same thing. Any idea why?

I'm doing some guessing here.
Do you mean the stem and fork crown are moving? If so, the bike shop hasn't seated the stem down far enough on the headset. If this is the case, get if adjusted straight away as the constant moving in the headset may stretch the alloy head tube. The stretching does happen, and has happened to me once on my previous road bike after a bike shop fitted the wrong size headset.
The only other problem (if it's not that) is they haven't tightened the bolts on the stem to the correct torque.
edit...I just googled your bike and my guess on the shop not seating the stem down is wrong. Your stem isn't that style. I'd say they just have to tighten it the headset or stem bolts. Don't be worried too much about it but be annoyed that they let it leave the shop like that.

Nice looking Bike! Kinda looks like my Trek 7100, except it has springs in the seat & 24 gears. If you paid $460 out the door, IMHO you did OK!

Sorry it took me a few days to get back to you guys.

yes that is my bike. I took it back and they tightened it up good and tight. When I left the shop could not move it. First commute ~24 miles it was loose. I took it back and they replaced the whole mount. The part that goes into the frame of the bike and all. So far have ~10 miles on it no issue. First commute will be tonight, I will report back and let everyone know how it goes. Also giantcfr1 now that you know that is my bike how did I do? I have a 30 day window to take it back but I don't have any complaints other than the bars being loose (hopefully fixed now). Not sure what the issue was if the tightened it up.

It was 460+tax so far I am liking it.

I'd say you did good with the bike. You got a nice discount so you should be happy.
