As the title says. When I search for auto shifting bike I only find the trek lime. I'd prefer to have a front suspension with lockout and flat handle bars though.

If you're riding an upright bike, I'm not sure you'll really need the suspension fork, since there won't be so much pressure on your hands. Have you been to an LBS and ridden a few different styles yet?

When I think of auto shifting on 2 wheels, the image of a motoscooter comes to mind.

Why do you think you want an autoshifting bike?
Have you considered the possible downfalls ... which are obviously not mentioned in the pep-talk?

I keep looking for an auto shifting bike that has a front suspension w/ lockout, cable routing through the frame, & more then 3 speeds. I thought I said something wrong when one guy corrected my grammar, and the other guy pointed me to that really bad landrider bike that has that horrible auto tranny in it.
I just walked away from the thread with a sad face till you responded.

J. Dub, I think we're worried that you have a long list of features that you want, and a budget that is far too small to accommodate them. An internally geared hub can be a great thing, but it's going to drive up the price. Likewise, a lockout suspension fork isn't going to come on a base-level bike. And internal cable routing is not all that common at this point. Is there a bike that has all these things? Probably. Is it going to be inexpensive? No.
Have you gone to an LBS and test-ridden some bikes yet?
Edited to add: Schwinn Voyageur? No lockout fork or IGH, but it looks comfortable and is close to your price range.

The technology for auto shifting did not arrive. I tried the Trek Lime and it had serious problems as the gears would struggle to shift and sometimes crack if done incorrectly. The Landrider also did not shift well at all as the transmission depended on a cheap flywheel and rubber band! After the Landrider failure, I doubt we will ever see another auto shifting bike again.
