Need help with Specialized Vita Sizing

I need a little help with making sure Iím getting the right size bike. Iím specifically looking at the Specialized Vita and will be using this bike to ride around the neighborhood and occasionally on the road. I found a website that showed me how to take certain measurements, and came up with the following (in cm):

Inseam 76.84
Trunk 60.96
Forearm 31.75
Arm 57.15
Thigh 59.69
Lower Leg 52.07
Sternal Notch 137.80
Total Body Height 168.28

The same website also made a few suggestions depending on the riding style that I am looking for. Iím not looking to be the most aerodynamic rider out there, and comfort is more important to me than speed. I do prefer a more upright riding position.

So after I saw these 2 suggestions I went to the Specialized Vita website and tried to figure out which size would work best for me based on the numbers they had listed, but a lot of the terms didnít match up and Iím confused.

I went into a local bike shop and was told a medium would work for me, but they didnít have the Vita in either size for me to try out. My only concern with a medium is that my arms are fairly short and I donít want to feel like Iím struggling to reach the handlebars all the time since I want a more upright riding position. Would a medium be okay or would it be safer to go with the small?

Thanks!

my wife is 5'6" and we got her a medium in the vita , she says it is perfect. I don't know all those measurements though. She had tested a men's medium in the sirrus and it felt good except for the stand over height and the reach was a little long. the women's medium vita was very similar with a lower stand over height and shorter top tube..

I'm 5'5" with a 31" (78.5 cm) inseam and am very happy on the Medium. I rode a small, too, but it seemed to have a very short top tube and I have long arms. The med is great, and I have a pretty upright posture on it.

Here's a pic so you can see how much seatpost I have. Because of my ridiculously long arms, I have the saddle adjusted way back, and lowered the saddle a little compensate.

Thanks for replies. I feel pretty confident now that a medium will definitely work.
