2012 DS 8.5 upgrade or trade-in

I have a Trek 2012 DS 8.5 that I have started using in group rides and not any off road use. Should I try and upgrade it with road tires vs. the stock light trail tires and do other upgrades to try and make it more more road bike like or just trade in for real road bike? The group rides are all on paved roads.

Tires are cheap and some narrow slicks will transform your bike no end.

I'd put some 28mm tires on it, lock the front fork, and truck on!

I was actually thinking about one of those bikes. Keep it and buy a road bike. Then you'll have one for all reasons/seasons. Good luck
