Jamis Coda Sport/ Jamis Allegro Sport
I'm pretty much have made up my mind and want to get the Cannondale Quick 4. The shop near my house have the 2013 model in black and red. However, there is a shop who carry Jamis bikes. I have been reading and hearing many good things about them. I want to swing by and check the Coda and Allegro out, before buying the Quick 4. What is the difference between the two? I know the frames are different.

The Cannondale Quick 4 has carbon embedded blades within the fork. This will most inevitably account for a slightly smoother ride. Most other things are more or less equal, since they're all 8 speeds. However, we can't side step the fact that the Coda Sport costs much less and has a chromoly steel frame. For about seventy-five bucks more, you can get the Coda Comp, which has a carbon fork and is a 9 speed, as well.
The Jamis Coda Comp ~ $775

I have a 2012 Coda Sport and a 2011 Allegro 1, to me, jmho, the Coda series is like a BMW 7 Series Coupe, smooth, easy on the eye and the body but due to the STEEL frame not "off the line fast", a Grand Tursimo type feel. The Allegro series are more like a BMW Z4 sport car, quick, agile, sporty lines and with Alum. frame, lighter and quicker but not as comfortable for longer rides. You can get the next step up, in either the Coda or the Allegro that has a "carbon fork", hope this helps.

+1 for the Jamis Coda
I have a 2009 (all steel) Coda Sport and love the ride. It handles beautifully, shifts well, and is stable and smooth over the less-than-lovely roads in my area. I've had lots of compliments on it, and everyone who has asked to ride it has been impressed. At least try one out before you make your final decision.
