Cool This little thing followed me home the other day

long story short, had my 98 trek 7500 stolen last july, and since then i have been searching high and low for a suitable replacement, even went as far as buying a scrapped 2000 trek 750 with a busted frame, just for the parts to transfer on to my 84 world sport, wasn't the same... i stopped by my local coop on saturday and look at what i found the best part? the 7500 hundred i lost was a tad short for me and this one is just right, plus its a 1990 cromo lugged frame, i already have 1990 trek 930, so this is like its little/ or (big) brother... very excited..

i have got her stripped down to the frame now, the threads pulled out of the crank when i tried to pull it off the bottom bracket, luckily i was able to take the other side off the normal way, and with some channel locks i was able to get purchase on the bottom brack cup to slowly unscrew it with the crank still attached.

so now im in the process of taking all the parts that came off that borked 2000 trek frame and im installing them on the new/old 750 frame..this one won't be leaving my sight!

Nice find. Looks like it might be a 93 model. The front color looks different in the catalog but it's the only lugged 750 with a paint scheme that's even remotely similar.

I ride a 1995 730 and it's a great bike. I need to replace the crankset and rear derailleur and it will be completely updated with handbuilt wheels, a modern 9-speed drivetrain and V-brakes.

Make sure you take good care of her, she's special. I've got a 1990/790 and a 1992/750, both of which I purchased new back in the day. In fact, I'm looking at them hanging on the wall in front of me as I type. These older Trek hybrid chromos are just all around excellent bikes. Hope you enjoy, and yes, it's a 93.

as i inspected closer she does have a bit of rust, looks like a lot on the inside, i may have to get some frame saver, i really don't want to powdercoat it, but i may have to if i want to save it...
