I'm looking to upgrade
I currently have a Swobo Otis, I upgraded the Sram Im3 to a Shimano Nexus 8 speed hub and I'm looking to upgrade to a newer, lighter wheel set. I'm having trouble finding a set compatible with my 36h hub. Any suggestions?

Just curious,how did you get the hub to fit? I had an Otis,and looked at swapping the hub,but the frame spacing was too narrow and I didn't trust bending aluminum.
As for rims,I'd ask over in the MTB forum.

I bought the bike from Sport Chalet. Their shop handled the install, however I very frequently break spokes. So I'm looking for something more solid.

What do you weigh? If you're well over 200lbs,you should ask over in the Clydesdale forums. If you're under 200,then something is wrong(wheels weren't tensioned right from the start). I had two spokes go bad on mine,but it was used for polo,which is to say it was outright abused. Other than polo I had zero issues with it.

yuo already have a 36H 8 speed hub ? I'd get a sturdy 36H rim, like a Velocity Dyad, or whatever, and have a good wheel builder MAKE you the rear wheel with that hub, using quality stainless spokes and brass nipples. tensioned properly, that wheel should take anything you can throw at it unless you're a 350 lb weight lifter and you're into bunny hopping.

Yeah, I have the hub already. The bike is my "daily driver" in a mostly flat suburban area. I'm not doing tricks or riding real aggressively. Just the occasional curb hop/ drop. I have a set of Kenda Qwests on the bike now, as my ride is 95% over paved surface. Should I be riding a wider mtb tire or something?

thats a 26" bike? I'd probably use a 26 x 1.7-1.9" semi-slick tire on that for mostly suburban occasional trail riding.. I've got a 26" 'cruiser' that I put Geax Evolution on, its a nice rolling tire, handles hard pack dirt just fine.
That Dyad rim I mentioned is, AFAIK, only a 700c/29er wheel, so you'd need some other rim for 26" but there's tons of sturdy 26" mountain bike rims available, many in 36H. a properly spoked 3 cross 26" wheel with stainless 14ga spoke will be strong as heck.
