cannondale Quick 4 xs frame/26 wheels for my 5'1 wife, and 4'7' son?
Looking at a good deal on a new 2011 Quick 4, extra small, 26er's. Really looking for my small 12 year old boy now on a Trek FX 24", and doing long rides with me. Could my wife potentially share this bike? She doesn't ride much. I know they should both try it out, but looking for opinions anyhow. Thanks!

What did the bike shop say?
My daughter is 140cm and my wife is 161cm. Both ride the same sized frame with 26" wheels, but my daughter's has a stem shorter by 30mm and the saddle is lower. Both use riser-bars but different sweep and height. Given their height difference is about 20cm (8 inches) and your wife and son are 7 inches, you might just be ok. Depending on their reach, you may have to change the stem to one they can both use.
My daughter's bike will of course be able to adjust accordingly with her, as she grows.
This is what it looks like...

Has your wife been fitted to the xs frame in the Quick? They tend to run on the small size to begin with, and I'm thinking a sm might be her size. I'm 5'6" and was fitted to a WSD large, and my 5ft tall daughter takes a small in this frame.

Thanks for the comments. I know I'm jumping the gun here, but the input still is useful. I think the xs will serve my boy, and mom will get her own wheels. The Quick xs is a bit smaller than the Trek xs frame too.
