Desperately seeking Hybrid Help

I have a trek 7.1 fx and my back rim is bent. I have no LBS as I live in rural KY. I cannot find a rim that will fit it (700x35, 7spd, 32h) anywhere. I've checked amazon, craigslist, ebay and random Trek dealers websites to no avail.

Will someone throw a relatively new rider a bone and point me in the right direction? The name of the wheel is Alloy Bontrager 750. It doesn't have to be that very same one. Without it my $450.00 bike is a big paper weight.

700x35 is the tire size. You just need a 700C rear wheel, probably has a Shimano cassette. If you plan on getting just a rim and putting it on the existing hub, then the spoke/hole count needs to be the same. If you are just buying an entire wheel, they don't have to be the same. In fact, my Trek tandem has 40 spoke rear and 36 front as the original spec.

Here's one on Ebay, It is a touring wheel that has 36 spokes, so it should be even a bit sturdier. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sun-Rims-AT1...item3f23c22c44

Hey thanks Yo Spliff. I noticed though it said 8-9 speed. I have a 7 speed. Does that make a difference?

It might.

Chances are, if it's a 7 speed that it's a Free Wheel hub and not a Free Hub.
You'll have to determine which.
IF you have a FW hub AND want to reuse your existing cogs, you'll have to get a FW hub.
However, if you want a STRONGER hub AND are willing to buy a 7 speed cassette + 4.5mm spacer, you can buy a FH wheel.

The wheel Yo Spiff pointed out has a single wall rim.
Since you bent your rear, you may want to spend a couple bucks more and get a double wall rim.
Look for a wheel with a Sun Rims CR-18. They aren't that much more expensive and it'll be much stronger.

Try Peter White Bicycles................ He will fix you up..........

Or Niagara Bicycles.

You could also try Nashbar, and get complete wheel and new cassette for a very reasonable price.

Assuming you want the same size, make sure you take ALL of the numbers off the existing rims....... It will say something like 622X18, or some such... They will also want to know what color you want - black/silver, etc.

If I was buying a new rear wheel, I would also want 36 spokes, as it is much stronger. Like this one https://www.modernbike.com/itemgroup.asp?IGPK=2126205477

Also, I'm not trying to spend your money, but here is a good chance to upgrade to 9 spd on the back, with little additional cost. A Shimano Deore 9 spd rear derailleur is really cheap right now, as are 9spd cassettes and chains, at places like Nashbar or Amazon. Possibly need a new shifter, and will need a new chain.

Wheel, derailleur, chain cassette, shifter - and you will have a completely different bike.
