Cannondale Quick 5 vs Raleigh Misceo 2.0

Do any of you own one of these bikes, if so what can you tell me about it? I've looked at both of these at local shops here in Nashville, Tn. and have pros/cons for each they are priced only $20 apart so price difference isn't a concern. Although the $529 or $549 is a LOT to spend on a bike for me and truthfully more than I want to spend. I like the wider tires on the Raleigh and disc brakes are great, although the disc breaks can add to maintenance costs later on. The quick 5 tires seem very thin.

How do you feel one of these bikes are suited for neighborhood and/or green way riding? How is this bike suited for longer rides 5/10/15 miles? I haven't ridden a bike 5 miles in many years. My oldest is now 12 and we've been riding mostly in our neighborhood and nearby areas and my cheap bike from Target is horrible. I'm looking to replace it with something that will last MANY years and will be kept in my garage when not in use.

I haven't looked at the Trek FX's yet but the $550 would definitely be the upper limit to my spending. Any information/insight you can provide will be appreciated. Thank you

After a LOT of research I bought the Misceo 2.0 about a month ago and really love it! I looked at a lot of different bikes (not the Quick 5 however) and felt like the Raleigh suited my needs really well (nearly identical to yours - mostly paved trails and family neighborhood rides). I've since put about 50 miles on it with no issues and have worked up from the first ride of a grueling 2.7M to a 16M ride over the weekend with energy to spare

BTW, the Misceo is going for $499 just about everywhere right now (got mine from REI) so if you go through your LBS make sure you ask them to match that price. Ideally, if you have an REI near you, you can get it through them and get $50 back through their member program.

if you have any specific questions about the bike just let me know - I can't speak highly enough about it!

I found a used Cannondale Comfort 5 that the owner said was a 2003 although bikepedia says was made from 2008 - 2010. It needs brakes and a tune up. After a tune up and breaks it will be a little more than half the price of a new one. I'll let you know what I end up doing. Thanks

Today I bought a used Raleigh Passage 3.0 from Craigslist. I'm going to give it a try for awhile and see how it goes. If I don't like it they sell new bikes everyday, I can always buy a new one later. This is my first stab at a bike other than something cheap from a box store. I wanted to go look at a Giant Sedona/Sedona DX both dealers in Middle TN don't have any in stock.

I bought a Quick 5 on June 14th...Love it... the only other bikes i looked at were the Giant Cypress and the Trek Verve but i got a good deal on the Quick... it was a 2013 but a demo, the owner of the LBS had rode it 10 miles in a charity ride and let me have it for $500 OTD including the computer and water bottle...I have about 85 psi in the tires and it's a bit hard but rolls very well. I wanted this kind of tire on a bike and not bigger, i felt the rolling resistance would be better...From looking at the Raleigh website it looks very similar to the Quick so i say it's a toss....Make sure you can get it serviced locally and if you can test ride them chose between the 2... Might want to look at the Giant Cypress also, it MSRP for $385.00... the plain Cypress not the DX or LX...
BTW, i am getting back in cycling after 22 years and have already to 7 miles jaunt with htis bike very comfotably... I am getting a steering stem extender and adding new clipless pedals and shoes this week when they come in....I may do different bars or bar ends later...
