My first 50 mile ride on Comfort bike.

And it was good. Just tooling along about 10 mph. May have hit 17 mph a couple of times.
I was in no hurry, I just wanted to see if I could do it.... Had my doubts just a little over 30
miles in. Stinking 15 to 20 mph wind coming straight at me. But finally made it. Stopped and
had small lunch about halfway. Plus a couple short stops to rest on the final 13 miles..

Had a lot of fun... I think I would really like to go on a short tour. About 20 miles into the trip,
I heard footsteps behind me , then they were getting louder. I looked to my side and there was
a guy running...... Wow, I told him - I know you are not thinking about passing me-. He laughed,
I looked down at the computer and I was doing 10 mph uphill. I was in total disbelief.

He ran beside me for 4 miles,,,, holy crap. Him and I were talking the whole way as I was still
going 10 to 11 mph. He said he was from Kenya, and he was training for some big foot race, I forgot
which one. I was in awe.

Rode 51 miles, in 4 hr 55 minutes . Thought that was pretty good, did not think I could ride that
far on my Raleigh Venture 3. Of course I think my cycle computer stops the time when I stop for
breaks...

Now it's on...hehe

Sounds like a wonderful ride. Interesting about the runner. I really have no idea how fast people can run.

I love Michigan. Headed that way on Tuesday for riding in the UP.

50-mile rides are long. The most I've ever done on a comfort bike was 30 and it was on a crappy Walmart bike

Congrats!
"Just tooling along" was probably the best approach, instead of wearing yourself out prematurely.

50 miles on any bicycle is an accomplishment! During my brief foray into road bikes 17 years ago, when I was actually somewhat fit, my longest ride was 20 miles, so good job!

Congrats on reaching your goal! My longest to date has been 23 miles and the wife and I are considering pumping out a 30 miler sometime soon. I don't think 50 miles is in our sights yet but I do hear it whispering to me.

Outstanding. I've done over 30 several times on a single speed cruiser with fat tires. Haven't got to 50 yet. I need more free time.

Thanks .

Once I get my Cadent FT 1 or 2, I am hoping to bump the miles a little more.

I am sure I could not have rode 10 more. My (bad Knee) was really starting to
talk to me. It feels better than new today though.
