What's up with Specialized Sirrus?

So if you go to the Specialized site and look at bikes now, the Sirrus no longer shows as you go down through Road, Mountain, Fitness, etc. (It should be under fitness). If you search for Sirrus, you'll find the Sirrus line http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bikes/fitness/sirrus. A few weeks back, there was a new model, I don't remember the name, that was $5000 and had the Ui2 electronic shifting and FACT 10r carbon. That bike was only on the web site for maybe a month or two at the most. Now that bike is gone and the top line model is the Pro with 8r carbon and disk brakes for $3000. Recon where the Ui2 model went???

Maybe someone bought it and now they have to make another one?

Can't see anything wrong with the website: Bikes > drop down to Fitness > lateral to 'Commute'.

As for the the 2013 Sirrus Ltd SL4 you refer to, I suspect it was a marketing test: would anyone (i.e. more than one or two people) actually purchase such a bike? Answer: no; model: dropped -- no market. The other possibility: there were a few left-over 2013 Fact10r/SL4 Roubaix frames.

BTW, aside from the grade of cf used, this year's Sirrus Pro seems interesting: SL4 frame (8r rather than 10r in Specialized-speak), discs, etc.

Pity Specialized won't, for whatever reason, actually get round to making a dedicated (geometry; specifically, effective t/t length) flat-bar version of this frame for the carbon Sirrus. I would love one of these, but won't consider it so long as it's simply a Roubaix frame w/flat bars slapped on. Until they do, I'll stick with my '10 Sirrus Comp, which at least has proper geometry.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I just came across this and had to comment..

I guess I am the 'one' who purchased a 2013 Sirrus Limited SL4

BUT...

It's hands down the best bike I have ever owned! It's a road bike that happens to have a flat bar.. I LOVE flat bars! I have a bad back and drop down cause me some back problems after 30 or so miles. I can do a century on this bike with no back issues whatsoever..

I know the so called 'hardcore' cyclist laugh at flat bars and I honestly will never understand why but that's a another topic I suppose..

I bought one, I love it, and in hindsight, I'd buy it again in a second!

To the OP, if you can find one (only 300 were made) buy it! The prices have came down quite a bit now and some can still be found in the $3,500 range..

Here is a link to the product page:

The top of the line Carbon Sirrus bikes with rim brakes are the best. Most sporty feeling bike I have ever been on, has this go and get them feel to it. Unlike some Hybrids which feel like it rather on a Sunday Stroll riding in a business suit.
I don't think the new models carbon Sirrus are as good as the past, heavier and some are made in China and components are downgraded.

Wow. I want one of those SL4's now :) My Limited is pretty sweet though, so it's going to be tough to justify. I put the SRAM doubletap shifters on it and it's just an all around nice bike. I have Di2 on my Domane and love it and it'd be nice to go from the 8r to 10r carbon, but the $2k to upgrade is just too steep. Maybe they'll discount them on a year end sale and make it easier. I'll definitely be watching!

I love, love, love mine and yes the Ui2 (Di2) shifting is pure sweetness!

I think retail on the bike was about $5,000.. I picked mine up right when they 1st discounted it and paid about half that before sales tax..

Only 300 of the Limited SL4's were made so you might not have any luck getting a brand new one, depending on how long you wait..

Alas, none in my size :( I need a 58 or 61. All that is left is 56 and 52.

Bummer! I got lucky and scored a 58 direct from Specialized (well, my LBS did)..

Did your LBS call Specialized? Did they check with other LBS's across the country?

Since they only made 300 total (no clue how many in each size) it's going to be tuff finding one..

If you can find one, it's an incredible bike!
