Boardman MX Race Hybrid - Thinner Tyres

Hi,

I have a Boardman MX Race Hybrid and it comes with Schwalbe Tyrago 700c x 37c tyres. I've got a long ride coming up which is mainly on road and was thinking about getting some thinner tyres, maybe 700c x 28c.

Does anyone know what the thinnest tyre size the Boardman MX Race can handle?

Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks!!

See if you can find the ISO bead seat diameter printed on the tires you have now. Sheldon's page has a good guide (of course):

You should be safe to go down to 28mm, possibly 25mm. Keep in mind that though you'll be going on the road for a long ride, you might be feeling cracks and the road more with a thinner tire than versus a wider tire. 28mm should be fine, though.

Hi, thanks. I've taken a look and looks like there is an iso, it's 37-622 (I think!).

If you think 700x28 will be safe I'll give them a try!

Yes, those would fit fine. Good luck!

That's your tire. You need to look for a sticker on the wheel for your rim width.

Or, measure the inside dimension between he walls of your rim.................
