rode my HYBRID to a CAT 1 and CAT 2 climb yesterday!!
Hello folks!!Just wanted to brag a little bit on my accomplishment yesterday, Rode my HYBRID up the summit of Badger Mt road in wenatchee WA, according to STRAVA is a category 1 climb or CAT 2, I have done it with my road bike a dozen times but never with my HYBRID so yesterday I said to myself " I am going to summit with my HYBRID TODAY!". Took me 1 hr and 10 mins to go 6 miles up and a total of 16.1 miles after i was done riding, i rode all the way down 10 miles to where my wife works and had some well deserve Mongolian beef for lunch!..Not gonna lie it was a challenge but thank goodness for granny gears!!because the last part of the climb was the CAT 1 and I was maxed out all the way to the summit!. I just kept thinking about the descent as a motivation to make it to the top and it worked!..here are some pics and a video I took on one of my several stops..So my question is how high have you climbed with your HYBRID???
here is the end of the road..primitive road..no problem with my HYBRID..
according to STRAVA..
and lastly here is the video..yap thats a heck of a climb!..

Out of curiosity, what hybrid are you riding? Not to diminish your achievement but there is a huge difference between a comfort bike vs a flat bar road bike, yet both are called hybrids. Either way, I probably would have struggled, so I'm impressed.

My apologies, I was reading your post during a break while at work. The pictures don't show up on the computor at work, if they had, I would have known what you were riding. Now I see them.

I generally find it's much easier to climb hills / mountains with a hybrid.
This is one of my rides from a couple of weeks ago but strava shat itself half way. You get the idea though.

The ride turned out to be amaizing too. On the way home we came across maybe 5 landslides, two of which really destroyed the road. We had to climb over them...

Each landslide was about 40 metres wide, but very slippery and muddy. Now I can laugh about it but at the time, there was a fair amount of swearing going on. lol Anyway, we won't be on that course for a few months now until they clear it. The route isn't a major one so hence the delay in repairing.
