Hmmm, I can't speak to them and can only speak to my current set on my Quick 4 which are the Kenda Kwik Trax 700 x 32. I thought I'd want a smoother tire, but actually I've been quite satisfied. As I have mentioned before 32cm is just perfect to me. I've ridden 90% road and about 10% trail so far and the Kwik Trax have done great on both. (Kinda made me glad there was a "little" bit of tread on the Trax for the dirt I rode on).
I was wondering what you thought of the Kenda Kwik Bitumen on your Quick 3??
I'm sure the Michelin are a good tire, I just think you'd almost have to try the dozens of bike tires out there side by side, one after the other on identical bikes just to get a feel for what you like. (nearly impossible).
So like a lot of buying situations, we take our best shot & hope we get what we want out of the purchase. Of course, if anybody has direct experience with the Protek Crosses, maybe they can *help* your decision & confidence.
(I'm sure a lot of purchasing decisions have easily taken years off the end of my life.....I'm sure of it)
