Which Thudbuster seatpost (St or Lt) should I get for my Hybrid?

I commute about 10 miles over a mixed terrain (pavement, gravel, road and a little bit of dirt) - I am thinking of adding a suspension seatpost to my hybrid. I am considering the Cane Creek Thudbuster.

Has anyone installed it on their Hybrid? Which one should I get St or Lt?

I would guess that you would only need the short travel one. I'm also considering getting one for my Sawyer.

Both weights almost the same.
LT is for maximum comfort and/or heavier rider.
ST is for smaller guys and doesn't provide true "suspension" feeling.
I went with LT and its awesome. Very easy to set it up for your weight.

Awesome Picture! The LT looks quite big relative to the seat - Is the ST much smaller?

LT requires more seatpost extension above the frame to fit the longer parallelogram in.

ST less .. I have one of each .. , as frame under them required.

there are sized neoprene boots to cover both ,,

Thanks for the info. Which one do you like better? Which one would suit a Hybrid better?

how much of the current seat post sticks out of the frame you have ?

what diameter is the existing seatpost?

Did you note the dimensions quoted on the company website ..

I've got two Lts - I can't say enough good things about them. I'm really surprised more people don't use them. I haven't tried the ST.

You are right...LT is pretty big. I think that is the only problem with it. My frame is XXL, and I'm a pretty tall guy, so it fits nicely and there is still enough room for a rear light.
