Fat Tires on a Sirrus ?
Anyone ever fit 35 or 40s on a Sirrus ? I wonder how big you can go, and still fit fenders?

You may want to re-phrase the question, Fat Tires are for Fat Bikes, as in 26 x 3.7 to 4.0.

40 would be really FAT on a Sirrus. LOL. I know they used to come with 32s, and always figured a 35 would work ---- but sure would like to have a 40 on the back.
I might have to take a trip to find out how much room is in there - don't know if the frame I still the same.
I hate N+1..................

My old '05 Sirrus had PB Hybrid fenders,which would fit 38's under them. Don't know how much the design has changed since then.
Best way is to try to see what size fenders will fit. Try going to a bike shop and see if they'll let you slide a set between the forks and rear triangle to see what fits.

I think PB Cascadias are 45 wide. If they would fit, a 40 will go underneath.... I think I'm gonna visit the Specialized dealer with a ruler...........

Just remember,wider tires are also taller. My BBU's/F600 have plenty of width,but anything over a 700x32 would rub the underside of the fork.

I've got some physical issues that require a softer ride. Front suspension and wider tires take care of it for me.
But, coming from a road bike, quite few years ago, I'd still like to b able to get closer to it, when I can.
And ---- asking the same question with newer models, just shows I am still interested in it.
Plus, I really like the looks of the Sirrus line, and lust after disc brakes.
I love my Crosstrail, and would keep it for all of the reasons I love it; but still see nothing wrong with N+1.
Fatter tires, fenders, and rack would still be required, as it would still be needed for whatever.

The obvious solution is to ditch fenders, if installed. Its basically trade off between riding comfort and protection from the elements. If fenders are a MUST have, be prepared to live with smaller tires that can fit under them.
