Jamis Allegro Comp VS. Trek 7.2
I had my mind made up and decided to go with the Trek 7.2 FX for $549.00. Then I stopped in another bicycle shop and noticed they had a new 2013 Jamis Allegro Comp on sale for $500, $250 off the MSRP. Being new to bicycles I have no knowledge base to form an opinion. I rode both bikes, being new to bikes they seemed pretty much the same to me in the short ride in the parking lots. Would the Jamis be a better purchase? I'm assuming it has better components since it retails for $200 more. The Trek is $549.00 and the Allegro's regular price is $750.00. I don't see much mention of Jamis bikes on this forum let alone the Allegro Comp.

Jamis Allegro comment
I personally don't trust carbon forks. My Jamis Allegro 1, 2011 model, came with a cro-mo steel fork and is comfortable enough with the curved rear chain stay and 32c tires. Aluminum frames are generally more rigid and lively to ride, but you get more road friction in your body. The Allegro 1 is a pretty well thought out aluminum bike design.
