Looking for a Hybrid bike.
I've been looking for a new bike to replace my Carrera Fury (Which needs fixing) for commuting 12 miles to work. I recently found out about the Ride2Work scheme and thought it was a great idea instead of splashing out all the money at once like usual on a new bike. The Ride2Work scheme associated with my work is with Evans Cycles, I've been looking for a smooth but fast Hybrid for around the £500-600 mark which would also be capable of doing the London to Brighton in July. Two bikes caught my eye and I was wondering which one would be more suitable?
Specialized Sirrus Elite 2014 or Cannondale Bad Boy 9 2014 |
The Specialized Sirrus Elite appears to be the better deal. You get a 9 speed with a Carbon fork, instead of an 8 speed with a thick aluminum fork on the Bad Boy 9.
I still like the Bad Boy better though! :D |
Thanks for your reply, The bad boy 9 does have a very nice look but I'm leaning towards the specialized atm, there seems to be more in stock of them too.

I have a Sirrus and it's a great bike! :thumb:

Based on a quick look... I would make the choice based on whether you thought you needed disc brakes or not. If not, or you are on the fence, I would go with the Sirrus since you end up with a better bike minus the disc brakes.
Although I personally gravitate toward getting a bike with disc brakes, I don't ride in wet conditions... but I always look at them longingly until I convince myself that for me all they do is add weight and complexity over good v-brakes. :) |
Yeah, I lust after a Sirrus Sport Disc...... If I only knew my back could take it.....
I should just go spend some money on speakers, so I'm not so tempted.............. |
