Best way to protect scratches from locks?

I lock my bike like this in the backyard. I have a few scratches from the lock, can anyone suggest some kind of padding for the downtube that is not downright ugly?
Even thou this is my beater/errands/rain bike I still want to prevent more scratches.

Cover the lock with something that won't scratch,or use clear shelf liner for the bike. Lots of motorcyclists use the shelf liner to prevent scratches from tank bags and saddlebags.
