Rear rack for Trek FX 7.2

I am considering a rear rack for my Trek FX 7.2. The Bontrager web site has a couple of racks, but I'm not sure which ones are suitable for the FX. Amazon has a huge selection but I'm not sure which racks fit the FX. Any recommendations for a rack that would work? Doesn't have to be a heavy duty touring one. Just need a convenient place to store lunch, a few tools, and perhaps a jacket. Thanks.

Most any brand of rack should fit your bike. Depending on your frame size, you might have to buy a sm or lg size. If you have disc brakes, you may need a special rack for that.

I have the TREK FX 7.4 20in frame, I put the Bontrager BackRack Deluxe L on it. These racks are designed to work with their 'Interchange' quick release line of accessories.

Topeak also has a line of racks and accessories, all designed with their own clip in/clip out system.

Enjoy your search!

Topeak MTX and rack. Very nice system and the MTX system really has a lot of storage. I like the additional water bottle holder and hook for the taillight. They thought of everything. Looks very polished. Can't go wrong with this set-up.

My 7.3 came with a Trek Interchange rear rack, which I believe is now the Bontrager Interchange system. My two cents, go with Bontrager.

It's not an FX, but here's my DS 8.4 with a Topeak Super Tourist rack and Timbuk2 Hunchback bag. Nice thing is that the Hunchback doesn't look like a bike bag, it's 10/13 litre expandable and it's insulated and you can fill it with a dozen cold beers and a bag of ice either on or off the bike

Bontrager is Trek's in-house component & accessory brand. Any of Bontrager's racks will work with your FX (whether you get a large or small size depends on the size of your bike). Bontrager has various Interchange bags designed to work with their racks, just as Topeak has their own system. Still, racks in general are pretty standard, and as long as you get the correct size, there will most likely be a way to mount it and make it work for you.
