Just as the name implies, I'd love to see some pictures of your hybrids arranged for longer distances. Here is mine:


Nothing fancy. A 2011 Trek 7.2FX. Brooks B17, Topeak MTX Trunk Bag and rack, trekking bar, etc. Longest ride thus far is 33.3 mi (1/3 a century). I want to work up TOSRV in Ohio next May. I think I will throw some 700x28's on it as I currently have Michelin 700x35 Trackers.

My longest ride with my hydrid was 42 miles in the Bay Area, CA.

It is not a flashy bike. But I do go on 40 mile rides often with it. I have rode it 60 miles on one occasion. I average about 10 mph, with breaks for food and drink.. And it is very comfortable.

Good looking hybrid! Do you leave the front suspension locked on longer trips?

My wife and I just got back from a 32 mile ride yesterday and I am enjoying the trekking bars. I believe I will move my saddle forward slightly as I feel like I have to reach too far for the front of the bars. I love the varied hand positions.

My suspension won't lock. I adjust it as stiff as it will go. This thing feels like a tank getting it going though...hehe .
I have been looking for a older Jamis Coda lately too. Something that the top tube don't slant as much.
Have been getting ready for a overnight ride one of these weekends. Have fun.

I think this weekend my wife and I are going to try for our first metric century equivalent ride. It is a terrific route along a river here in Ohio. There is even a nice little ice cream shop in one of the towns we go through. It is good motivation knowing a flurry isn't too far away!

I think the 2014's are all gone but the 2015's are arriving soon. The Specialized dealer in my area is too small to stock all the Sirrus models - especially the more expensive ones - so I had to order it sight unseen. My son has a 2013 Sirrus Limited in the same size which I have ridden many times and my previous main bike was a Roubaix Apex so I had a pretty good idea of what the Comp Carbon would be like before I took the plunge. I ride with a couple of people who have Fuji Absolutes (a 1.1 and a 1.3) and they both seem like great bikes.

I order my sirrus comp carbon to day and i cant wait to start useing it. I got a graet price on it (920£) and i Wonder have you upgrad it or do you think that its good as it is stock?

I haven't made any substantive changes to mine as I am happy with the stock bike and think that the results of "upgrading" is, in most cases, not worth the money spent or effort involved. I'm sure that many others will disagree with me but at 60 years of age I've been down the upgrading road with expensive cars, kayaks and audio equipment over the years and I finally realized that it's more about the idea of upgrading than any actually improving the thing you're upgrading than anything else. I'd suggest that you use the bike for a while and see if it actually falls short in some way for you and then specifically address those shortcomings rather than buying into the "upgrading" mindset. I personally found the handlebars of mine to be about 2-3 inches too wide and cut them down and added clipless pedals but those are practicality and fit changes rather than "upgrades". Enjoy your new bike for a while before deciding on throwing more money at it.

Here is my Trek 8.3 with carbon bar and fork, ergo grips, crank bros. pedals, 40 degree stem and Brooks saddle. Longest ride so far was 22 mile over a mix of road and gravel this past weekend. I am really pleased with this bike now but I see some changes to the drive train and an additional set of wheels in the future.

I got my Dr. Fine set up just right for some long trips just haven't taken the time with it. Now that I got it down at the beach I plan on doing some scenic rides to a few of the neighboring coastal towns.
