    Trek 7.3 with blendr

Just got 7.3fx with blendr and wanted to know if anyone has used the blendr system. Lbs said it was so new they had no idea what computers where compatible. Wanted to use my Samsung note 3 but have no idea where to look for mounts. Any ideas?

Could you post any pics of your 7.3? I've been thinking about getting one and would love to see it.

The LBS I visited said there was an iPhone 5 case, I don't know if they make generic clips that you could attatch to a different case. Would be nice.

Should add that I had been riding a 2013 7.2fx (rental) which I Liked but wanted to purchase the 7.3 for the grips and added gears. Rode the 7.2 in a sprint tri (first one) and will be competing in another with the new bike in three weeks

Likewise, I decided to look at the 7.3 after checking out a 7.2. While the 7.3, .4, and .5 all felt pretty similar (with obvious drivetrain upgrades) the difference (to me) between the 7.2 and 7.3 was huge.

Haven't been able to see the black finish in person yet, I don't know if thats the one you bought.

Great! I appreciate any pictures you have time to take.

In particular, if you could get a shot of your rear derailleur i'd be grateful. I'm wondering if there was a spec change to this model because i've seen a few coming equipped with the Alivio M4000 Shadow RD.

The cassette also seems to have undergone a minor change from the HG-20 to the HG-200.

For the Blendr, I know there's an iPhone 5 case, and it works with the Trip 300 computer. It also works with the Ion 700 light. My LBS guy told me there is supposed to be some Garmin stuff coming out using it.

Thanks for the pics. Your RD is the M430 as shown on the website. I spoke with two people at Trek last week and got conflicting information. So far i've seen two with the M4000, and yours with the M430.

Thanks grey, for now I just put a trip 100 on it and it works fine. Can't get a whole lot of info on the duo trap sensor from lbs either. They told me they will be researching it

Can someone please explain what the blendr thing is? I have a 2015 FX 7.2 and the guy at the Trek store couldn't really articulate what the blendr feature is....thanks.

The Blendr stem is only featured on the 2015 FX 7.3 and up, it's an integrated clip mount that allows you to attach various phones, bike computers and headlamps to the stem instead of taking up handlebar space.

Thanks. The kid at the Trek store said it was on the 7.2, as well, and was something inside the stem, beneath the round cap on the head tube. While not completely accurate, at least it was more specific than his explanation of the differences between the Trek FX and Trek FX WSD versions. The only thing he could come up with was, "it is for women because they are built differently."

If you're interested in that sort of thing, there is an aftermarket product that attatches to the head tube. Universal Bike Mount

Personally I think it's great to see the integrated expansion options Trek is putting on their bikes this year, with the new DuoTrap sensor design and the Blendr stem. Saves space and looks clean.

Or the Australian Quadlock , though be aware you do need a long enough stem. The stem on my 15.5" 2013 DS 8.4 isn't long enough to mount it on.

Truth be known however I ran a Android phone running BicyComp for a while, but actually found it more distracting than motivating. I now just run Strava on my phone (in my pocket) for logging my rides. I know when I'm going fast

I hear good things about the Quadlock, my friend has one. I use Strava as well, though moreso for the Route/GPS function. It's the only app i've found that lets you mark custom bike paths.

That aside though, there's some cool things you can stick on the Blendr stem besides phones, headlights in particular.

Hiya, forum newbie here. I've been looking online with no luck for blendr-compatible accessories, in particular a phone mount. Where did you find these things you've posted pics of here?

    Thanks in advance

I have a BarFly case for my blendr stem. I don't see it on the BarFly website, though. I have an iPhone 5s. I got it from the Trek story in Jacksonville, FL. I don't see it on their website, either, but you could call them. Trek Bicycle Store of Jacksonville, Florida | We Take Care of You. Period.

I have the case that looks like the one in the lower left corner.

There was a way to make margueritas with Xtracycles raising the rear wheel with a stand to spin the blender blades, pedaling..

Is anyone else a bit dissapointed with the Blendr stem? I like it , I have the trip 300 on it. However I was expecting there would be more mount options available.
The ability to mount a computer and light at the same time would be good.

What more do you want to put on there other than a headlamp, a phone, or a bike computer?

You can always just strap on a seperate headlight like you would on every other bike that dosen't have Blendr and then use the stem for the computer.

I would like to put an Bontrager Ion light and Trip 300 computer placed centrally at the same time. It would be possible if a new mount was available.
Would like like to see this for the nice tidy look, and also there is not a lot of space on handlebars (aside from breaks, gears, grips) with remote lock out, 2 lights, computer, bell etc.
Seems as though the Blendr stem has not maximized its potential.
