Mig888, thanks for the great review and info. A couple more questions if you don't mind. Do you know how much your Sirrus Pro weighs? Any issues with the high gear (being in the 10 gear on the cassette) not being high enough for you. Congrats on your new bike!

I don't know exactly how much it weighs, but my best guess would be somewhere around 20lbs -although I could be off. The high gear was high enough for me and was harder to pedal than the high gear on the bike I have been riding with Shimano 105 gear set--although that is on a heavier bike.

Thanks Mig888! I will be heading to the local bike shop this weekend to test ride the Sirrus Carbon Elite that they have in stock and another bike that has the SRAM XX1 components to see how I like that group. I will make the decision on the Pro or Expert. Your feedback has been really helpful.

I think you will be happy with either the Pro or an Expert. Both a great choice. Good luck.

Mig888, do you have an update for me about your Pro Carbon. I was set to get the Pro Carbon, although after asking a question on this forum I moved to the Expert Carbon. After reading your experience I am leaning back to the Pro. I rode an Elite Carbon the other day and know that the Sirrus Carbon geometry is exactly what I want. On Monday I plan on ordering either a Pro Carbon or Elite Carbon (most likely the Pro). What more can you tell me?

Thanks

I love the Pro, but I am sure I would also love the Expert. The geometry is exactly what I was looking for. For me, the gearing on the Pro works well. I don't think you can make a bad choice. The Sirrus is an exceptional bike.

I went to the local bike shop and they had the 2 Sirrus Pro Carbon bikes in stock. I was able to test ride the Sirrus Pro and loved it. Geometry, shifting, gearing all exceeded my expectations. The gearing range was perfect for my riding style and needs and shifting was very smooth and quick. I was very impressed. As Mig888 said it is a beautiful bike too. It was much better than I expected. I will be getting the Sirrus Pro!

Congrat with new bike mig888 and blade1 Iv'e been told that the sirrus '15 frames are diffrent from the '14 modells. Yust wonder what the diffrens is? Some say the 15 mod has a totally new frame and not yust a Roubaix road bike frame.

The 15' Sirrus is a more comfortable geometry--at least for me. It has me in a more upright position. I took the 2013 Sirrus Limited for a spin a couple of months ago and my neck hurt a little because I was bent over a little too much.

There's no "some say" about it: the '15 carbon Sirrus bikes are entirely new (frame/fork, carbon grade, geometry). The previous model years' (e.g. 2013, 2014) full carbon Sirrus bikes were re-purposed Roubaix framesets (i.e. flat instead of drop bars). End of story.

Agreed. The confusion arose because the 2014 sirrus aluminum frames use the new geometry, whereas Specialized waited until 2015 to change the frame geometry of the sirrus carbon bikes.

The '15 Pro only has one gear and one brake cable to be routed internally. There is no front derailleur (1x11 drivetrain), although the fd hanger and cable run are in place to allow a later conversion.

I believe he's referring to the rear brake line. On the '15 Pro it appears to run externally along the downtube, whereas on his '14 Comp Carbon all 3 cables are internal.

Purchased me Carbon Comp in August, last of 2014 models. Was led to believe the geometry would be same as '15 model, however aren't fussed to find out the 2015 has revised geometry. Have made a couple of changes since buying it, first one was cheap - chopping off 25mm from each end of handlebars. The others were a 120mm stem, Specialized SWorks COBL GOBL-R Seatpost and SDG Bel air 2.0 saddle. The reach on the bike is ample now and probably mirrors extended length of '15 frame. Must admit it was a bit cramped to start with (plus bike came with 100mm stem rather than 110mm spec'd)

A lighter 11-28 cassette has been fitted and to top it all some H Plus Son grey archetype rims with Chris King R45 disc hubs & super comp spokes.

Yet to ride it with the new wheelset on but the Sirrus was always a pleasure before. Cote de Buttertubs, cant wait.

The tyres look fatter but are Specialized Roubix Pro 23/25 on the back and Espoir Elite 25 on the front. The archetype rims are 23mm wide and 25mm deep. Tyre sits more like the profile of a tubular tyre and feels much smoother when riding, felt like they were 32's, really comfy but didn't feel any different drag wise.
