Noisy Giant

I bought a Giant Escape 1 this year and have been very pleased with it except for one thing: There is a constant rattle and I was told it's the cable that's threaded inside the frame. I assume that's true since I have not been able locate the source of the rattle anywhere else. So my question is this: Do all Giants make this noise? Is there anything I can do about it?

My Giant doesn't have internally routed cables, but I have had them on other bikes, and don't recall hearing any rattling. All cables should be under a little tension normally, which I would think would keep them from rattling unless ridden over rough terrain.

Looking at the bike, it seems the shifters run parallel with each other through the same hole in the downtube, due to the design they could be rattling against each other.

My Anyroad had the same issue. Horrible rattling. I solved by pulling the cables tight, and splitting some vacuum hose and using it as a stop. It also doubles a frame protector.
