Hi, I'm new to the forums, and fairly new to cycling. I Just got my first [real] bike(a.k.a. not big-box). It's a 2014 Specialized Crosstrail Disc. I've been happy with it so far, without any problems (other than catching a guy busting my lock today, but caught him seconds before he was gonna ride off). Anyways, I also got a job offer today as a bike delivery guy for Jimmy Johns. I live in Tucson, and will be delivering on campus. The roads are a bit (extremely) run down, so I'm happy with the MTB aspect of the hybrid bike. Do you guys have any suggestions on what might be a better bike, or is mine a good fit for the job? By better, I mean efficient?. Since I'm gonna be cycling a lot, I'm looking for a bike that will go further with less work, yet tough enough for Tucsons crappy roads. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!!

Your delivery bike is going to get banged up and worn out and probably stolen on campus so find a decent quality used MTB that shows a lot of cosmetic wear. Then grunge it up like a messengers bike and get a strong lock. Save the nice new bike for weekends and fun times.
