Question for 2014 Specialized Sirrus Expert Disc Carbon owners
Have any of you that own this bike swapped out the tires to anything larger than the 25mm one's the bike comes with stock? I was wondering if the bike would accept a 32mm or if not at least a 28mm.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thanks for the response. I'm guessing the 28 fits on the rear as well? Just curious, what tires are they?

Do they measure 28mm when mounted or somewhere in between 25 and 28?

They were just put on today and did not measure them. I have 28 Gatorskins on my other bike and these Roubaix tires are bigger width wise. Contis run small.
Eyeballing the front I now think there is no way a 32 will fit there. Rear should be close though.

It's a very good looking bike for sure!

Nothing wrong with fitting a 35 on the back, and a 28 on the front. You will gain quite a bit of comfort with a bigger tire on the rear.

Are you running the stock wheels? If so, do you know what the internal diameter of he rim is? Also, any chance you know how much the stock wheelset weighs?

I am running stock wheels, never weighed the stock wheels. Buying aftermarket wheels is probably the best upgrade for the bike I think.

My medium is about 21.xx pounds as I recall. The stock wheels are not light, just look very nice. One look at nice aftermarket wheels and its about half the price of the bike so never got into that stuff. Now nice tires that's more my game.

21+ Lbs for a carbon framed bike is a bit heavy. I'll be a nice set of aftermarket wheels would drop it into the 19 lb range. I'll be changing out the wheels, tires, crank, and a few other parts and I'll be sure to weigh the bike before and after. I'll be the stock wheels are close to 2200 grams. These wheels should make a difference, no?

Last night I tried a 30/32 Roubaix Pro Tire in the back for comfort. I did not like this combination. Robbed the fun out of it for me, felt so sluggish. So I exchanged it for a 25mm Conti 4000S GP. Restored the " spirit" of the bike back. Different tire combination/sizes work for different bikes.
Still have the 25/28 in the front and works terrific there, for the traction.

I have a set of Schwalbe Ultremo ZX in size 28mm I'm going to try on the bike with the new wheels. I tried using them on another set of rims with a 23mm ID but they were not compatible. I'm really hoping they work. If not, then I will go to the Michelin Pro 4 Service Course in 26mm or the Roubaix 25/28.
Is this because of the height or the width?

I think for the front its both width and height that is going to an issue with 32mm in the front.
I think the personality of this bike does not warrant a tire bigger than a 28mm. Just makes it feel big, like going from a VW GTI to a Buick Lesabre. But that is just me if comfort and going over gravel, dirt I understand that.
