New Brand Gives Young Riders Confidence
With Low Riding Position, Kid-Friendly Features
Prevelo Bikes For Kids has announced its global brand launch, scheduled for this week at Sea Otter booth 318, according to company founder and CEO Jacob Rheuban.
Rheuban, a dad, attorney and renewable energy specialist, began development of the Prevelo design concept in 2016. He started with his experience teaching his two sons to ride and the realization that kids’ bikes needed to make the early years of riding easier: more fun, less intimidating.
The Prevelo line brings this fresh thinking to the kids’ bike market. Innovations include a special low geometry that gets kids' feet closer to the ground for increased stability and confidence, 3-piece cranks with shorter arms to maintain proper ergonomics with the low geometry and provide narrow Q factor, and special kid-sized bars, stem, grips and brake levers.
“We think we’re offering a genuinely new choice for kids and parents,” Rheuban said, “and we invite them to put Prevelo bikes to the test. We’ll be offering test rides on all our bikes— from our smallest balance bikes to premium 24” “Big Kids” models with air forks and hydraulic disc brakes— throughout the Sea Otter Festival in the SRAM Kids’ Zone demo area.”
“We also have a special incentive for customers who visit Prevelo at Sea Otter — we’ll personalize your kid’s new Prevelo with the rider’s name in quality custom-cut vinyl decal mounted to their bike for orders before May 31st.
