Greetings from the foot of Cheaha

Hi everyone. My name is Marshall, I'm 36 and out of shape. Well I do have a shape its just not a desirable one to have. As a college student I rode all the time but got away from it and sold my Schwinn long ago. Last nite I purchased a 2003 Cannondale R400 Triple, my first bicycle in over 12 years. My short term goal is to loose some weight and have fun riding with family and friends. Next year this time I'd like to complete the Cheaha challenge. Since I live so close to the mountain it will make a great training area for me.

Hi Marshall, you also live close to the Chief Ladiga Trail. It's a great place to get some miles in to practice your spinning technique. When it eventually ties into the Silver Comet in Georgia it will be a great ride.

Few days ago I bought a 2003 Cannondale R400 Triple, the bike needs some work. I need some help form people who own or know these bikes. The front derailleur is stripped off, also the rear derailleur is not connected. I thought these should be fairly simple fixes, now I see they’re not. I found out the front derailleur was braze-on, I’m going to try and replace it with clamp-on. The one thing that puzzles me is how the derailleur cables are routed under the crank, there are no guides or clamps for them. Can someone post some help or some pictures of the bottom of the frame please? Thanks.
