hello from zhejiang, china

I'm in Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, China.

These photos were taken by my friend on 25th, April, when they had a group riding to the suburb.

We have a forum too. www.0575bike.com.
I just set up an english section in the forum.

So cool! Glad to see you aboard.

I really would love to take a cycling trip into China sometime. I tried to go once out of Thailand, but I just ran out of time.

Thanks for the pictures. It renews my interest in going there one day!

you can ride from thailand along the coast up to zhejiang, where i live. along the way, there are a lot of bicycle clubs. we all have contacts through our own forums. if you want, you can get helps like accomodation or directions

That is awesomely cool of you. Is it possible to start in Singapore, then ride up through Malaysia into Thailand? Or is that a bit much?

Why not? I found Kuala Lumpar a bit polluted and the air just made my throat constrict, but other than that, I didn't see anything.

I feel you. When I was backpacking through Malaysia, I never had bad experiences except at the border, but overall, I really did like Malaysia.

sorry, yes, i meant the security issues around the border of thailand and malaysia is abit hairy right now.. i hear alot about bombing that's going on over there, and i rather a fellow rider be safe than sorry..all this coming from a local thai backpacker(myself)..however, if you still want to ride in thailand, i would suggest a trainride from malaysia coming into thailand.. possibly Hadyai, then you can ride on from there.. if you make that trip, let me know..i can possibly send you some more info..

I loved the photos! So much foliage.

Is that a road or a bicycle trail or what?

I don't know about bombings, but I felt almost like I was being blackmailed by the border police when I was crossing over from Malaysia into Thailand. They were trying to get me to pay them money to pass and held up the bus in their efforts to get me to hand over my money belt. Then when I showed them I had no cash (only travellers checks), they kept asking why I didn't have cash, and telling me that I couldn't pass into Thailand unless I paid first. Uuuugh, it was terrible.
