OKC Athena New To Biking
Hello, all! I found this forum after googling a question about cycling with a heavy pack, and, following some snooping, decided to join! I'm a relatively new rider, just started regularly commuting to work and school around June 2015. I'm 5'7", 300+ lbs, and ride a Bianchi Cortina Dama. I ride 20-30 miles a week on average. Once I get better/save enough on my meager student income, I'd like to buy a road bike! I ride for fitness and to commute, and if weight loss occurs as a result that'd be nice but it isn't a goal. Anyway, it's nice to be here, and I look forward to learning a lot!

Welcome aboard! That's great that you're already putting in some miles. It's a funny thing: every minute you spend driving your car makes it a little bit more worn out, but every minute you spend riding your bike makes you a little bit healthier!

Hiya! I wish I'd had the guts to lose weight while bicycling (I mostly walked around and was kinda bored) but now that I have, it definitely helps keep the weight off. You're going to do amazing and I bet you end up way more fit than I am at the moment!
