Hello from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada!

Hey hey!

I'm from Ottawa, ON and I want to get into cycling as my main form of transportation around the city. I currently use OC Transpo, and it would be nice to have a bit more freedom with my departure times - not to mention it would be really healthy for me since as a game developer I hardly get any exercise right now! As of right now, I'm just finishing up my 2nd year in Algonquin College's Game Development program, and I'm hoping to be able to bike to and from school most days next year.

Welcome to Bike Forums. Any thoughts on which bike you'll get? Ask any questions about bikes in the relevant forum.

Welcome aboard! You'll probably want to get a bike that you can fit wide tires(studded?).

Welcome to BF! Lots of good information in the Commuting section. The Classic and Vintage section is also an interesting place where bikes for commuting etc. are discussed. Check out the Car Free Living section too. Enjoy.

I'm a sometime commuter who has turned a folding 26" mountain bike into a drop bar all weather commuter, with studded snow tires as an option for cold wet weather.
