Hello from Phoenix, AZ
Hello everyone!
I'm John from Phoenix, AZ. I absolutely hated my first time on a road bike. I was talked into renting one for what I thought would be a casual ride around the Tempe Town Lake. It was painful, uncomfortable, and boy did it wear me out! A couple months later, looking for a way to work on my cardio health, I decided to try it again. What a difference having the desire makes!
I've been riding off and on now for about two years, and I love it. I've done two organized rides so far - Viva Bike Vegas, 2014 (62 mi), and El Tour de Mesa, 2016 (72 mi). I'm considering signing up for El Tour de Tucson in Novemver (104 mi), but I've got a lot of work to do before then.
I live in North Phoenix and ride a Specialized Allez road bike. I'm here to build my knowledge base about cycling and become more intentional about how I train. I'm open to any suggestions/feedback you guys would like to offer and am definitely open to meeting up for a ride!
