Introduction

Hello!
I just moved to Bainbridge Island, a little place out in Puget Sound, and road biking nirvana. I've been biking since 1957!!
For the last 20 years I was riding a Klein road bike about 50-100 miles a week on the roads, but it finally gave out. I am soooo retro....I feel in the minority who still have downtube friction shifters! When it gave out, I ordered a Seven, and I'm about to get that in a couple weeks. Pretty exciting. It will have all the modern stuff like Campy Ergo shifters. But I still like the simple things, so I'm rebuilding the Sekai 2700 that I bought in 1978 to commute to the University of Washington. I can use that for commuting around the island where I live. Restoration is a lot of fun- I think I'll braze on canti mounts, and then just move over all the components that still work from the Klein, get out my spray gun and shoot it a light yellow. Whee!

Bainbridge Island is good stuff. I lived out there for a few months and enjoyed my time. You must have a great time with riding, especially after the morning traffic leaves for work.

Welcome to the forums!
