Hello from Madtown WI
Long time reader first time poster. I ride to keep up my cardio but am kicking around the idea of trying to bike to work. I live about 12 miles form work so not a huge haul but enough that I currently couldn't do it at this time. I am slowly trying to progress my riding distance but life always seems to get in the way.
I currently have an ridgid MB and a newer trek 1.5 RB. I also have an old steel frame Trek RB that is a work in progress or something along those lines.
I am still trying to find my sweet cadence to not over exert myself or under exert myself and can get a good ride in each time.

Welcome to Bike Forums. Before I retired one of my places of work was about 14 miles from home. I commuted by bike Mon, Wed and Fri. I was 57 y/o at the time. When I changed jobs and work was only about 8 miles away I bike commuted 5 days a week.
The folks in the Commuting forum can give you some good advice.
